Three brave Arena clients took to the streets of London last weekend to take part in the annual London Marathon! Having completed the gruelling 26.2 mile course that winds its waypast some of the capital’s most famous landmarks, Karl, Neil and Paul returned to their respective centres this week to tell the tale (albeit with some aching limbs and a few blisters between them!).
Neil Sexton of Sextons Legal is based at our Ferndown centre (pictured centre) and chose to run in support of Shelter – a charity that supports the homeless and those at risk of homelessness throughout the UK. Neil managed to complete the marathon in a time of 3:15:09! Over the course of the year, Neil will also be running the Dorchester Marathon and the New Forest Marathon – also in aid of Shelter. Meanwhile, two clients from our Lancaster Court centre in Fareham were also taking part in the marathon:
Karl Mayhead of Intelligence Mortgage Solutions (pictured right) ran in support of Naomi House and Jacksplace – two hospices that support children and young people with life-limiting illnesses in the South of England. Paul Basham of Paul Basham Associates (pictured left) also took on the marathon challenge, finishing the 26.2 mile course in a time of 3:54:10! Paul was running in aid of Pancreatic Cancer UK – a charity that funds research into the causes and treatment of pancreatic cancer, as well as supporting those that are facing the disease across the country.
