Arena Business Centre supports John Lewis recruitment drive

The recruitment drive for the new John Lewis at home in Branksome, Poole is well underway and with over 1000 applications already received the recruitment team has had an overwhelming response from high-calibre candidates.

To manage the recruitment drive John Lewis has taken offices at Arena Business Centre in Poole. Located just off Cabot Lane, the centre is providing offices, as well as meeting rooms and a business lounge, for the retailer’s candidate assessments as the recruitment team interview prospective John Lewis partners for the new branch.

“The recruitment programme has been very successful and we have now made offers to many applicants,” comments Barbara Jacobs, Manager Personnel Operations, John Lewis. ”We’ve had a strong response from many people living in the Poole area who are keen to work for the new branch on their doorstep but we’ve also had applications in from Southampton and Dorchester. We plan to have made our selections by the end of September in preparation for our October opening.”

The new style shop, which will be a third of the size of a typical John Lewis department store, will focus exclusively on the home sector, including electrical and home technology, and will create over 100 new jobs.

‘The opening of John Lewis at home has been received very positively in the area and we are very pleased to welcome John Lewis to Arena Business Centre. We have been working to provide a base that enables them to meet their recruitment objectives in a professional environment’ Comments Sharron Domanska, Operations Director, Arena Business Centre.
